Sugar High

I thought we were giving Lincoln a lot of sugar, since he's been eating snacks and drinking juice. But, I was more concerned about his getting to learn to like a variety of foods and drinks, so I didn't worry too much (especially because many of the sugars are from fruits).

On Sunday, we took Lincoln to Costco. This is a normal occurance in the SA Brunnert household. But, this particular Sunday mommy (and baby?) wanted an ice cream and daddy got a churro. (Plus Lincoln had had animal crackers and cruit chews at church to keep him occupied and well behaved. Worked like a charm, at the time.) We know Lincoln likes churros but I don't think he really knew much about ice cream. He liked it. So, he kept asking both Doug and I for more. We are still trying to encourage his signing and talking, so we were giving him bites of both treats (although only about every fifth time he asked).

Guess what happened - we got to see that in fact, Lincoln had never before had TOO MUCH sugar. He was completely wound up until he crashed right into his nap (after a decent lunch to try to counteract the sugar). Ahhh, now we know. :o)
