This morning we all watched some live tv together to see if Lincoln would like any other programs that might teach him some new things (and be fun, of course). When Dora was on, Lincoln was mesmorized and was smiling at the tv. After a while we noticed that he was laughing, too. Eventually, he laughed enough that his sucker fell out. Super cute. He was understanding the jokes without us explaining them and without looking to us to see if we thought they were funny. Definitely a cool new "skill"!
Also, just now, Doug was holding Ben after his feeding. I was a few feet away. Ben was looking roughly in my direction, so I called his name. He looked right at me and smiled! It was great. Up until now his smiles have been only occasional and not necessarily on command, at least not that we could tell.
