No time really to write, want to spend some time with Doug before Ben needs to eat.
But, I want to capture some thoughts before other ones have taken up the space in my mind for thigns to write about.
Lincoln being up all night after Jim and Christine's rehersal dinner - he just couldn't sleep somewhere other than his crib. He struggled so much - as did we! Doug swore that we wouldn't be going on a vacation until Lincoln's 10. I think it'll be before that but I do think we'll struggle with sleeping until Lincoln outgrows this stage.
Lincoln is cuter than ever. I'm LOVING this age. He communicates better than ever and says the cutest things. He's so proud of himself when he does things by himself or when he does new things. He loves to say "I did it!!". One of the ladies at day care was talking about how her oldest son wants the love language of touch and her younger son (Lincoln's age) wants the love language of words of praise. Doug and I got that book for our wedding, so this love language speak made sense to me. Lincoln definitely feels valued and loved by words of praise and he could basically do without hugs and touch. Ben definitely seems to be all about touch - time will tell.
Ben now smiles, makes "o" lips, does some gurgles and baby sounds and generally is aware and observant. He also seems to get fussy if he can't see enough.
Ben's fussy in a way that's very different than what we remember from Lincoln. He cries like we've left him when his diaper is the slightest bit wet (which is about 20 times a day - before and after eating and sometime in between), hungry, tired, gassy, working on a poop, bored, or can't see enough. So we think. He goes from sleeping or content to full fledge cry in a minute or less. He definitely is more the stereotypical baby that you see on tv or in the movies - with the mommies or daddies constantly bouncing, jiggling, rocking, or such the baby.
