Ben's Neck

So, Doug and I have now independently noticed that Ben is turning his head far to the one side and rarly to the other side. We both have been noticing it little by little for a couple/few days, but definitely yesterday. So, we did a few things to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with him - there's not. He was easily able to turn his head towards me when he was on his tummy and he turns his head (albeit reluctantly) towards a bottle on that side. (Not that he eats reluctantly, just that he tries to get the bottle to his "comfortable" side.)

Doug says he always switches sides that he feeds him on. I switch sides between ounces during at least half the feedings. But, we decided after I noticed it last night, we both burp him on the same side, always. Plus, when he burps he is constantly "rooting" at my chin to try to get more milk. So, he has probably been strengthening the muscles on that side for some time.

So, both Doug and I will make a conscious effort to burp him on the other side or alternate and to do things here and there to help build his muscles evenly. I bet (hope, for sure) that within a day even we won't notice a preference anymore.
