Ben's Mobility

Ben is everywhere and into everything. Although he doesn't really seem to need to be into everything, he just ends up that way because he is constantly trying to pull himself up or go everywhere. So, he ends up opening drawers, pulling stuff down, and all kinds of other challenging things.
He is a fast crawler, a good cruiser, and he REALLY wants to be a walker. In fact, last Friday he took a step. I wouldn't say it really counts as his 'first step' because it was just sheer willpower. But, maybe it should. Doug and I were getting ready for work by our bathroom mirrors and Ben was crawling around the floor. He had pulled himself up on the tub and was reaching for Doug's leg to cruise to daddy. He had just started cruising. (Has it really only been a week that he's been cruising - wow!) But, instead of grabbing Doug's leg, he just stood there, balancing for many seconds before he took a step and then sat on the floor. His feet still turn funny and his leg muscles still are in the crawling phase. So, I don't think he'll be ready to actually walk real soon. But, if it was up to him and sheer willpower - he'd be there now.
