For a week or two Lincoln has been getting really hot and sweaty playing. I think it was mostly because his hair was long (because his curls were SO cute).
So, Monday night I gave him a big hair cut. He's had his hairs trimmed before but never anything so drastic. It did start out as a trim - I was cutting about an inch (less than half the length) off. But, to get Lincoln to sit still we gave him the electric clippers with a #7 on them and had him "cut" daddy's hair as I was trimming his with the scissors.
After this Lincoln was adament that he wanted the clippers on his hair. I don't have any idea why I switched to a #5 - I guess I knew it would be better for Lincoln to at least have the hair off his neck. But, once we got started it seemed mandatory to cut it all the same length.
So, no more super cute curls for Lincoln for now. I bet they'll be showing in time for the big Brunnert family pictures in June.
The hair cut made me sad for a day. Now I'm more used to it. I think my problem is that it makes him look like such a big boy.
No more comments about bugs and bees in his hair last night, though. So, I think this was the right move. (He had been feeling like something was crawling in his hair when it got all sweaty and behaved differently. I guess someone at school had a bee near them or a bug in their hair when they were outside.)
