Lincoln starting classes

A couple things happened in the last week or so that have resulted in a bunch of cool classes for Lincoln.

First of all, there are two new classes starting up for the semester at his daycare. They had trial runs in the last week or so with Lincoln's class. One was a computer class and the other is a ball handling and assorted skills class. Lincoln did great in both trials. In fact, it was remarked that he did better than his classmates in the ball handling class. Something like he followed directions when his classmates were just throwing the balls at each other's heads.

The computer class people (or his teachers who were watching) said that Lincoln liked to follow directions and he could do the basic skills they were doing. He LOVES the computer and doing stuff on it whenever we'll let him. Since the computers are already such an important part of our lives I figure that's a good start for him.

Then, we decided to join a gym. It has a really cool jungle gym for Lincoln to play on while Doug and I work out. (Ben's area seems good for him, too, with a lot of toys that we don't have and that aren't at his regular daycare.) As part of the promotion to join we got gym bucks that we have to spend in the next month for services in the gym. They offer swim classes. So, we signed both boys up for swim lessons for a month. If they seem to like it after the first class (this Saturday morning) then we'll do another month to use up all our gym bucks. Both boys do good for their age in the water. I think Lincoln is even better than most kids his age, with and without his helper vest on. I guess we'll see. This class gets him ready for swim lessons without mommy or daddy. (Each boy has to be accompanied by an adult. They are in the same class since there's not a lot of interest. I imagine each boy will have a different skill set to work on throughout the class.)
