For the first time tonight Lincoln was 'scared' of the monsters he saw. This was before I left his room. So, I showed him how it really looked like one of the dinosaurs from his favorite show (Dinosaur Train on PBS). But, I also moved the lotion bottle that was causing the shadow and showed him how the light was making that shadow. I turned on his stars so it wasn't quite so dark in there and then we used his Flicker flashlight to check under the two beds and see that nothing was there. Then he needed his Daddy 'right now'. So, I tagged Doug and he went and said good night to our sweet boy.
A few of his books talk about monsters or kids who think there are monsters under the bed or in the closet or such. So, I'm not surprised it's started.
