Allergic to Pickles

So, Lincoln is allergic to pickles and instant oatmeal. As far as we can tell, it's just a topical allergy. (His skin gets red and angry where they come in contact.) We have given him Benadryl as a precaution with each, but I don't think it was needed.

It turns out that this is probably an allergy to the sodium sulfite family. That's a preservative in a bunch of foods. When I asked his doctor at the check-up this morning about whether we shoudl see an allergist even though he's so little she said she'd give me some names and they could answer my questions. (Guess that's a yes to my question!)

We ahve some friends from church who are allergists. Well, he is a researcher now, but he was a well-known allergist in town for decades. So, I sent an email to them to see if they had any comments about bringing Lincoln to an allergist for testing (since he's so little and supposedly it won't be accurate) and for any recommendations.
