Ben's Doctor's Appt

The doctor did a very thorough check of Ben. It was very comforting to me especially because she said there's nothing abnormal about his head. It's off enough that she asked if I wanted a referral for a neurologist to get a helmit. I said no. I don't care if it's not perfectly round (I don't think, anyway). I just want to make sure he's safe and healthy.

He does have an ear infection. For all any of us can guess he's had it for as long as we've been worried about him turning his head to the left!!! Glad I bought an otoscope t keep an eye on my boys between appointments. Too bad I didn't decide to do that a couple weeks sooner!

It seems like we can attribute basically all of the concerns or questions I had and then a few that I didn't realize were concers to thsi silly ear infection. In fact, it's probably why he's spending so much time looking right and that, in turn, is probably why his head is misshapen. It's probably not flat anywhere because he's not stuck putting his head in exactly the same position - just putting it to the left to get some relief.

The doctor will recheck it at his 4 month check up in about a month. For now, keep changing up his positioning when he sleeps, keep doing lots of tummy time, and mgive him the amoxicillian.

By the way, he's 16 pounds 7 ouces (approximately the 90th %), 25.25 inches long (between the 75th and 90th %), with a head that's about 48 cm around (about the 95th %). Same growth projections as before, so they are pleased with his progress.
