Lincoln's new teacher (Miss Ashlee) told me on Friday that he is the only kid in his classroom who knows his colors and can identify them. (In other words he can tell you what color something is, not just that he can say the colors.) I was super proud since he's the youngest in his class by a lot (maybe more than 6 months for some of the kids)!
I also thought it was a bit funny because when we ask him what coor something is he almost always still says blue. (He says it with a smile, like he's joking, but still, that's his answer.)
His teacher also told me that he usually doesn't eat at school. He'll eat his cereal and his fruit. :o( When I asked her about this this morning, though, she did say that he is getting better each week. (I told her that if she was concerned to let me know and I could bring in some yogurt or finger food so he wasn't too hungry. But, I don't want to do it because I want to encourage him to eat what everyone else is eating and get more diversity.)
She also said that Lincoln is getting better following directions. He can now sit in the circle for circle time and he can stand by the wall when they're going to the playground and not just dart away. Glad he's following directions but I felt a little bit bad that he had been the "problem" kid in class for three weeks before she said anything to me. There's not much I can do, maybe that's why...
